Find your old boys network

Find your old boys network. They can be your friends, also allies whom you wont categorize as extended family or buddies (for whatever reason). They dont have to be in the saatkorn field, but youre there whenever theres a need for encouragement or support. But theres more. The same people will tell you things that you dont want to hear, but you need it. After all, you can only go up the slippery slope of employment (or job market if you prefer to call it). You really need all the advice that you can get as you work your way up.Get comfortable being uncomfortable. This is the only way to learn a new skill. There cant be any other way to be better at it. This wont last long, so learn patience. Dont give up easily. Your network will be watching you from the sides.Know what you want to achieve, and show your energy in pursuing it. Some people will figure it out at a young age while others take longer than the rest. Theres only one finish line, so make an effort on it. You cant recapture lost time, so make the most out of it. Dont have second thoughts about hard sell if theres a need to pitch your work. Read anything, as knowledge will assist you on this one. If you cant be confident about it, then fake it.Curiosity, tenacity, and humbleness may be good enough in any workplace. You might be in a standstill if you dont possess these three traits. Curiosity will prompt you to proceed further until youre satisfied with what you learn along the way. Tenacity is not letting the tough moments stop you from what you have started. Humbleness is probably the rarest trait, as most will claim to know everything. Theres no room for improvement (or more knowledge) if you have that mindset, and that wont be good at all.Glass ceilings are meant to be broken. It may be present in the office for some time, it may be an imagined one. It can be discrimination due to color or gender, it can be other factors. If you cant handle it, then theres no reason for you to stay in it. Otherwise, show what youre made of. Its never been a question if youre deserving it or not, as long as you have the skills and the right mindset to be good (and consistent) in the job. And dont forget your network when you need support. One more thing Rome wasnt built in a day. Success doesnt happen right away, so persevere in what you do. There are days when effort is what really matters in the end. There are lucky days, so dont be sorry if youre experiencing it. Dont expect anyone to do something for you. Tell them about your ideas (and why it will work for them). Show your skills if theres a need to demonstrate it. Youll be more interesting in this way.
